Project Overview

WCSD developed a new facility for Impact | Puget Sound Elementary in Tukwila, WA. This is the first public charter school to open in the Tukwila community. Upon launching in 2018, Impact | Puget Sound Elementary served students in grades K-1 and is now at full capacity with nearly 600 students in grades TK-5. 

The Impact | Puget Sound Elementary project involved the adaptive reuse of an existing church and office building. The renovation involved the creation of interior partitions to build out twelve classrooms, a warming kitchen, and an outdoor playground. The double-height entrance features a “welcome” wall in the dozen languages spoken by families and students attending the school.
