Commitment to Racial Equity

Washington Charter School Development (WCSD) Seeks to Increase Racial Equity in Development of Public Charter School Facilities

Washington Charter School Development, Inc. (WCSD) was founded with the mission to create affordable, high-quality facilities for charter schools with high academic results. We work solely with non-profit operators of K-12 charter schools in the State of Washington. WCSD has extensive experience managing charter school construction projects, leveraging philanthropy, private financing, and state funding to create school campuses serving over students across multiple school districts and municipalities.

WCSD currently has active projects and targets new projects each year. As we continue our work in partnership with charter operators to increase educational equity, we seek to grow our network of capable real estate development professionals for current and future projects. In particular, WCSD aims to extend project opportunities to Black professionals and Black-owned/Black-led organizations as well as other underrepresented people of color in the following fields:

  • Real Estate Brokers
  • Legal Counsel (Land Use & Entitlements, Acquisition/Lease, Contract Law)
  • Lenders and Underwriters
  • Architects and Engineers (Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotechnical, Landscape Architects)
  • Environmental Consultants
  • Land Surveyors
  • Community Outreach Consultants
  • Cost Estimators
  • General Contractors
  • Trade Contractors
  • Deputy Inspectors
  • Low Voltage Vendors
  • Commercial/Educational Furniture Vendors

WCSD is also interested in engaging and collaborating with other organizations that are making efforts to increase racial and social equity within their own practices.
