Project Overview

Through a community engagement process in the New Holly neighborhood of Seattle, WCSD was able to find the perfect home for Impact | Salish Sea Elementary at the Othello Square mixed use development. The facility includes lots of natural light, a huge lobby area that doubles as a multipurpose room, and a servery. The space also includes a set of learning stairs that lead to an upper commons/library and specialist breakout rooms. The school will provide for up to 597 K-5 seats at full capacity and will include a dedicated covered play area along its southern edge. The school opened in August 2021 beginning with grades TK-2.

As part of the Othello Square community, students and families will have access to high quality healthcare options via the neighboring new Odessa Brown Health Care Clinic. The school is also working with the Seattle Sounder’s RAVE Foundation who will be installing two all weather soccer fields in the adjacent community park.
