Project Overview

WCSD partnered with Rainier Valley Leadership Academy (RVLA) to provide a suitable home for this middle and high school in Seattle. A grade 6-12 public charter school, RVLA fosters an anti-racist collaborative community through civic leadership education and rigorous college prep instruction for all scholars.

Completed in 2018, the three-story, steel-framed structure houses classrooms, including science and art rooms, as well as a variety of administrative spaces and a large multipurpose room used for meals and physical education. The stairway between floors has large open windows that let in light and provide a view of the surrounding foliage. The campus includes an outdoor learning and play area.
